IP Paris in the Top 50 best universities worldwide for its first ranking QS World University Ranking
This recognition of the excellence of its five founding schools - École Polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis - places IP Paris in the top 4% of the world's 1,300 universities ranked by QS.
Two years after its creation, stemming from the initiative put in place by French President Emmanuel Macron, IP Paris asserts itself as a major player and is recognized as a reference on the French and international scene of higher education and research institutions.

The Institute ranks second among the 32 French institutions ranked by QS, in between Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (44th) and Sorbonne University (72nd).
IP Paris' performance is based on a faculty/student ratio that is among the best in the world and a very strong international outlook in terms of student recruitment as well as in terms of academic and research staff.
The Institute ranks 32nd in the world in terms for its faculty/student ratio, 40% of whom are international. The faculty is also very open to the world, with 38% of academic and research staff recruited internationally.
QS combines six criteria to rank the top 1,300 universities worldwide. Academic reputation is based on a qualitative survey of over 100,000 academics.
Employer reputation is assessed on the basis of the employability of graduates of each ranked institution.
Citations by faculty measure the impact of their research by dividing the total number of citations of the institution's publications over a five-year period by the number of its faculty.
The faculty-to-student ratio relates the number of students to the number of faculty, giving the student body an indication of the likely class size at their selected institution. Institut Polytechnique de Paris scores 99.6 out of 100 on this criterion.
The ratio of international faculty and researchers, one of the two QS internationalization measures, measures the proportion of non-national faculty and researchers at an institution. IP Paris' score on this criterion is 94.3 out of 100.
The international student ratio, the second QS measure of internationalization, indicates the proportion of non-national students with a score of 98.3 out of 100 for IP Paris.
The podium of the QS ranking is occupied by the MIT, Oxford and Stanford.
