Marco Cagnazzo obtained the degree of Telecommunications Engineer (laurea) from the University « Federico II » of Naples in January 2002, and the titles of Doctor of Science from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis and of dottore di ricerca from the University « Federico II » of Naples (cotutelle) in March 2005. His doctoral thesis is entitled « Wavelet transform and three-dimensional data compression ».
He was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Naples and at the I3S laboratory of the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis within the CReATIVe team. Since February 2008, he is a lecturer at Télécom Paris, within the Multimedia team of the Images, Data, Signals department (IDS). He obtained the Habilitation to Direct Research from the Pierre and Marie Curie University in September 2013. Since December 2015 he has been in charge of the Multimedia team and since November 2018 he has been a professor.
Marco Cagnazzo is Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology and Area editor for the newspapers Elsevier Signal Processing and Elsevier Signal Processing: Image Communication. He is a reviewer for several journals, including IEEE Transaction on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology and IEEE Transaction on Signal Processing. He has been an IEEE Senior Member since February 2011.
Marco Cagnazzo has been in the organizing committees of conferences: 2010 IEEE MMSP (Electronic Media Chair) and 2010 EUVIP (Local arrangements). In addition he is Publicity Chair for EUSIPCO 2012 and Award Chair for ICIP 2014.
He speaks Italian (mother tongue), French and English.
