DTU, Denmark: strengthening European partnerships

Founded in 1829, DTU is Denmark’s largest technical university and one of Europe’s foremost institutions in engineering and applied sciences. In the QS World University Rankings 2027, DTU ranks among the top 40 universities in Europe, placing 105th worldwide and 5th in the Nordic region.
DTU is internationally recognised for the quality of its research and education in engineering, computer science, electrical and electronic engineering, and applied sciences. Located in Lyngby, just 15 km north of Copenhagen, DTU’s main campus offers a green environment combining state-of-the-art laboratories, collaborative learning spaces and easy access to Denmark’s capital. The university welcomes students from more than 100 nationalities, creating a highly international environment supported by dedicated accommodation and student services. Shared strengths in research, innovation and engineering education
Beyond student mobility, the agreement brings together two research-intensive institutions that share a common vision of engineering education. At both Télécom Paris and DTU, teaching is closely connected to research, innovation and collaboration with industry, giving students the opportunity to learn in an environment shaped by the latest scientific and technological advances.
Under this Erasmus+ agreement, students from Télécom Paris and DTU may complete one- or two-semester exchanges while studying in English. Télécom Paris students will have access to DTU’s broad portfolio of engineering courses. DTU students will be able to join courses from Télécom Paris’ MSc in Engineering, ranging from Data Science and AI, Biomedical Engineering, Mobile Networks and IoT to Quantum Computing, and more.
Both institutions foster a hands-on approach to learning, combining lectures, laboratory work, collaborative projects and close interaction with researchers. Innovation and entrepreneurship are embedded throughout the curriculum. At DTU, this approach is exemplified by DTU Skylab, one of Europe’s largest university innovation hubs. Similarly, Télécom Paris, located at the heart of a thriving innovation environment, provides students with access to its incubator located at Station F in Paris.
Strengthening European mobility
This new agreement reinforces Télécom Paris’ commitment to European mobility through the Erasmus+ programme. It expands Télécom Paris’ network of partners in the Nordic region, a particularly popular destination among its engineering students. The partnership enables Danish and French students to study in internationally recognised institutions renowned for excellence in academy, research and innovation, while fostering closer ties between both institutions.
Pierre Neillo, the first Télécom Paris student to benefit from the agreement, will begin a one-semester exchange at DTU this autumn. Télécom Paris looks forward to welcoming its first DTU exchange students to Paris in the near future, and to developing this promising new partnership between the two institutions.
