International Admissions – MSc in Engineering

Below you will find the main international admission pathways for our MSc in Engineering (diplôme ingénieur).

If you are studying at a partner institution, please check with your International Relations Office for specific admission requirements and procedures related to the bilateral agreement between our institutions.

Admission Requirements

To apply for our MSc in Engineering (diplôme d’ingénieur) through a degree or non-degree exchange program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in a science or engineering program at a higher education institution outside of France.
  • Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in Science or Engineering at the time of application.
  • Have a minimum B1 level in French and/or English (B2 recommended) for scientific courses, validated by an official language test.

Entry Level

  • 1st-year entry: You must be in your 3rd year of science or engineering studies abroad and have obtained 180 ECTS credits by the start of the academic year in September.
  • 2nd-year entry: You must be in your 4th year of studies outside France and have obtained 240 ECTS credits by the start of the academic year in September.

Degree Courses

Double Degree Program

For Partner University Students (Double Degree Agreement). Only candidates nominated by partner institutions may apply.

Selection & Admission Process:

  • 1. Pre-selection by your home institution: student nominations are sent to Télécom Paris by your mobility coordinator.
  • 2. Interview (if required, 25-30 min) to assess your motivation.
  • 3. Final decision on admission.

Application timeline

Application for the Fall intake: Ready to join us next fall? Submit your application between July 1 and October 15 for a September start in the next academic year.

Application for the Spring intake: Apply between February 1 and April 15 to start the current academic year via the Application for the Spring session platform

Selection & Admission Process

  • Initial Selection based on academic records.
  • Motivation Interview: Evaluates your interest, career alignment, communication skills (French/English), and adaptability. Mandatory for all eligible candidates.
  • Scientific Interview: Not systematic—conducted only if required by the eligibility jury.
    NB: All tests can be taken in French or English, at the candidate’s choice. Oral exams are conducted via videoconference.

Other admission pathways

Non-Degree Course (Exchange Program)

Exchange programs are only available to students from partner institutions.
You can apply for a one-year (12 months) or one-semester (6 months) exchange. For a 6-month stay, we recommend the Fall semester (starting in September) to maximize course options.

Please note that course enrolment is subject to availability of places for exchange programs.

Required Documents

When applying, you will need:

  • Statement of purpose (English or French)
  • Learning agreement (for Erasmus programs)
  • Resume
  • Official transcripts and grading scale from the past three years (original documents + translation into French or English)
  • Passport or ID copy
  • At least two recommendation letters
  • French and/or English language certificates
