Research Overview at Télécom Paris

If it’s about work, leisure, healthcare, transport, communication, security and so much else, you can be sure that data science lies at the heart of it. Télécom Paris, the top digital engineering grande école in France, bringing together a community of over 500 people dedicated to research, has produced a summary of a year’s worth of research and innovation. The document depicts the great variety of scientific fields, research projects and applications generated by this abundant ecosystem.

This edition of Télécom Paris Research Overview is a retrospective dedicated to the scientific advances made within our school in 2023–2024. The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of the wide diversity of topics explored in the digital field by the 18 teams working within CREST, i3, and LTCI, our three research laboratories recognized for their scientific excellence.

Research Overview

This special edition is enhanced by a substantial “Scientific Publications” section, which presents a selection of the research work carried out by our scientists at Télécom Paris and within the Institut Polytechnique de Paris ecosystem.

This showcase document is primarily intended for our current partners, with whom we are committed to continuing the development of our projects. It is also specifically addressed to our future industrial partners, with the aim of raising awareness of our research areas and encouraging them to build fruitful collaborations with us.

Research fields at Télécom Paris cover all digital science disciplines, from physical layers (such as electronics and optics) to applications and social impact (economics and social sciences), including  computer sciences, mathematics and statistics. Applications are embodied in nine strategic themes: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence – Visual and Audio Computing, Interaction – Digital Trust – Innovation Regulations – Transformation of Innovative Firms – Cyber-Physical Systems – Communication Systems and Networks – Mathematics and Applications – Uses, Participation, Democratization of Innovation.

This report will be of interest to senior and junior researchers, students and future PhDs, industry executives and entrepreneurs, journalists, innovation stakeholders and policy makers. In it, they will find out about today’s research, in other words, the technology innovations of the future.
