Télécom Paris and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Seal a Strategic Partnership
A strong complementarity
UTM is one of Malaysia’s top technological universities, ranked 158th globally and number 1 in technology in Malaysia (QS World University Rankings 2027). Founded in 1904 and specializing in engineering, technology and science, UTM stands out for its commitment to innovation, research, and international openness.
This partnership is built on strong complementarity: UTM and Télécom Paris share academic excellence, an interdisciplinary approach that combines social sciences and technology. UTM and Télécom Paris are both internationally recognized in key fields such as artificial intelligence, IoT, telecommunications, data science, and digital transformation.
Mobility and Research at the Heart of Collaboration
The agreement aims to facilitate exchanges between students, faculty, and staff from both institutions. For Télécom Paris, this includes offering its students the opportunity to immerse themselves in a different academic and cultural environment. It will enable Malaysian students to come to its campus, enhancing its internationalization.
On the research front, the goal is to develop collaborative projects, co-publications, joint PhD supervisions, and participation in scientific conferences held in both Malaysia and France.
A Promising Partnership
This first agreement with Malaysia paves the way for lasting cooperation. Télécom Paris and UTM are already planning to implement an exchange program to materialize the envisioned mobility.
The interactions between researchers, students, and staff will foster enriching academic and teaching experiences and drive innovative research projects.
