Repères biographiquesShort Biography

Jean-Louis Rougier obtained his engineering degree from Télécom Paris in 1996 and his Ph.D. in 1999. He then joined the computer science and networking department as an associate professor and then professor. Since then, he has been teaching and working on routing and traffic engineering in networks, in various projects and context (from Optical, IP to Wireless Networks). During his sabbatical, he joined the UCLA Network Research Lab, led by Prof. Mario Gerla (January to June 2011). His recent subjects are centered around cloud infrastructure and networks for IA.

His research focuses on Internet routing and cloud architectures. He is currently working on AI-optimized networks and on detecting security attacks on Kubernetes clusters using telemetry data.

Teaching activities

Jean-Louis Rougier is co-head of the GIN (Grandes Infrastructures Numériques) academic program, which covers teachings on the Internet (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.), cloud infrastructures, DevOps (including Kubernetes), and infrastructure security.
