Amal is currently (since September 2021) working as a tenured assistant professor (Maître de conférences) at the Computer Graphics group of Télécom Paris. He got his PhD degree in 2019 from IIT Madras, India, under the supervision of Ramanathan Muthuganapathy. Before joining Télécom Paris, he worked as:
- Research Associate at TU Delft, Netherlands (with Elmar Eisemann).
- Assistant Professor at IIT Guwahati, India.
- Postdoctoral researcher at École Polytechnique, France (with Marie-Paule Cani).
