AI and cybersecurity are certainly a matter of algorithms and encryption keys, but they are also a matter of regulation. And this has consequences for many sectors of activity.
Thomas Le Goff, Assistant Professor in the Economics and Social Sciences department at Télécom Paris and the i3 laboratory, analyzes this legal framework and contributes to its improvement. His multidisciplinary work also helps companies comply with it while making the most of the technology. He presented his work at the IP Paris Cybersecurity and Defense Conference on October 21, 2025.

“While AI opens up new opportunities, it also introduces unprecedented vulnerabilities into the systems we use every day (software, connected objects, transportation, etc.). Cybersecurity is therefore one of the major challenges of its regulation,” explains Thomas Le Goff, Assistant Professor in the Economics and Social Sciences department at Télécom Paris. The researcher analyzes European legal texts governing artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. “It is important to understand them well in order to help companies comply as simply as possible (organizational or technical measures) and make the most of the technology.”
